Challenge
Inconsistent citations, thin location content and an incomplete Google Business Profile limited local discovery across Alberta markets the brand wanted to serve.
Solution
We standardized NAP details, strengthened location and service pages, improved technical SEO and built a repeatable local content cadence. Details mirror how we run SEO & digital marketing for Edmonton businesses.
Client & industry
Marketing leadership wanted a durable local SEO foundation: accurate listings, useful location pages, internal links that made sense to humans and reporting that showed progress in plain language. They also needed guidance on what to stop doing, such as thin doorway pages or inconsistent NAP details that confused search engines and customers.
Challenge
Name, address and phone details were inconsistent across directories. Location pages were thin or missing. Technical issues limited crawl clarity, and Google Business Profile categories, services and photos needed a cleaner structure. Review generation was informal, so social proof lagged competitors.
Competitors with stronger local pages were capturing intent the client should have owned. Paid search helped fill gaps, but organic local demand was underused. Internally, multiple staff edited listings without a single source of truth, which reintroduced NAP errors after each “cleanup.”
Analytics also mixed branded and non-branded traffic, making it hard to see whether SEO work created new demand or simply shifted existing brand searches.
What we did
AIM Infotech audited citations, on-page SEO and analytics baselines, then prioritized fixes with the highest local impact. We rebuilt location-oriented content, aligned service pages to search intent and cleaned technical signals that blocked understanding of the business.
- NAP and citation cleanup plan with an owner assigned for ongoing accuracy
- Google Business Profile restructuring guidance (categories, services, photos, Q&A hygiene)
- Location and service page improvements with unique copy—not duplicated boilerplate
- Internal linking between services and local pages
- Monthly reporting with next-action notes executives could understand
- Coordination with website fixes via website development when templates blocked SEO
Supporting website changes followed patterns from our website development work so pages stayed fast and crawlable while SEO improved. Ongoing campaigns and content priorities lived under our SEO & digital marketing service model.

Client quote
Throughout the engagement we kept a simple rule: every recommendation had to map to a customer action—call, direction request, form submit or booked appointment. Ranking charts without business outcomes were treated as incomplete. That discipline helps Alberta owners decide where to invest next month’s effort.
Local SEO is rarely a one-week project. Edmonton markets differ by neighbourhood and category competition, so we sequence work: fix accuracy and technical blockers first, then expand pages that can realistically earn visibility, then reinforce with content and reputation signals. That order prevents spending on blog posts while the Google Business Profile still lists the wrong phone number.
We also aligned internal stakeholders. Operations confirmed service areas; marketing owned listing edits; leadership reviewed monthly notes. Without that ownership map, local SEO work tends to drift after the first cleanup. AIM Infotech documents who changes what so improvements stick.
If your Alberta brand is multi-location, the same playbook scales—but each location still needs unique proof and unique page content. Duplicating one city page across five cities is a common failure mode we deliberately avoid.
